ABSTRACT
The construction market in Nigeria is currently undergoing somewhat of a technology acceptance and utilization. Consequently, the advent of new technologies and new building methods has the potential to transform construction, from the way in which buildings are designed to the materials used to build them. With the advent of ever-smarter new forms of technology, Quantity Surveyors are having to adapt to keep up- and many are now taking advantage of these new inventions to work smarter and more flexibly than ever before. This study was undertaken to examine the effect of this technology in the field of quantity surveying and how it affect cost, labour and time. The survey research method was employed for this study. This was considered appropriate because survey design generally can be used to effectively investigate problems in realistic settings. The study was carried out in Lagos State, Nigeria. The study employed Pearson Moment Correlation for the test hypothesis. The findings revealed that; Technology has a significant effect in the field of quantity surveying; Technology improves the efficiency of quantity surveying in Nigeria and technology has an effect on cost, labour and time in the field of quantity surveying
